The 43rd UGT Confederal Congress, an eagerly awaited event

What does this large-scale congress mean for Valencia?

A lot! Let’s take a look at the initiatives that will be showcasing Valencia over the next few days

Sustainability, technology and innovation, experience, Corporate Social Responsibility and the city. These are the five cornerstones of the Valencia Conference Centre’s focus and mark the way forward to the recovery of the meetings industry.

Moreover, if we see these cornerstones embedded in a multitudinous congress such as the one coming to the venue today, we look forward to it with even more enthusiasm.

The 43rd UGT Confederal Congress, which will be playing host to over 1,000 people in person over three days, is set to bring major benefits to Valencia.

The event begins with a social congress that has citizens as its main focus, featuring an exhibition by Gallego and Rey; a Fallas monument by the artist Marisa Falcó; an event with a round table to mark the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, as well as illuminating the building with the colours of the rainbow as a sign of solidarity and as part of the Centre’s contribution to the SDGs. This large-scale event is a special tribute to society.

We will then move on to the main part of the congress, which is set to generate 2,192 overnight stays and a total impact (direct and induced) of €1,536,741. In addition to the indirect employment created by the event, around 60 people will be working daily at the venue to provide audiovisual, IT, cleaning, support staff, security, medical, translation, photography and other services.

And to top it all, this congress aims to raise society’s awareness of sustainability. The event will be using the Conference Centre’s digital signage, an app that has been created for the virtual downloading of content and interactive search of rooms, and all the stands will be built with recycled wood.

By hosting this major event, we are contributing to the increase in meeting tourism. The presence of more than 1,000 participants is the key factor that will guarantee the implementation of safe practices at the venue.
