On 28th and 29th October the Valencia Conference Centre is set to become the meeting place for over one thousand executives from the food and food distribution sectors at the annual AECOC (Spanish Association for Commercial Coding) Congress. Under the slogan “Understanding and Beating the Crisis” the congress will address current issues in this key Spanish and European industry.

Conferences will be held on issues concerning the economic climate, strategies in times of crisis, the food and agriculture sector as the driving force behind a sustainable economy, and society and its consumer vision. Speakers will include important Spanish figures including the former Spanish Treasury Minister, Miguel Boyer, the chairman of the CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations), Gerardo Díaz Ferrán and the economic analyst, Carlos Rodríguez Braun. Presentations and talks on consumer-related topics will be given by major executives such as the Chairman of Mercadona, Juan Roig, the Director General of Nutrexpa Alimentos, Fabrice Ducceschi, the Commercial and Merchandise Director of Carrefour, Ignacio González, and the Chairman of Campofrío, Pedro Ballvé. The philosopher and sociologist Gilles Lipovetsky will speak about consumer buying behaviour and emerging trends, while José Luis Nueno, Professor of Marketing at the IESE Business School will talk about winning investment strategies for communication in times of economic recession.
