The performance by the popular children choir, known for their participation in the original soundtrack of the film “The Chorus”, included pieces of religious music, popular songs and classical and modern-day pieces, including some of the compositions that Bruno Coulais created for the film and others from their latest album, entitled Nos Reves (Our Dreams). Their angelic voices filled the conference centre and made a wonderful impression on the audience, which was made up of people of all ages. Dressed in their uniforms of sky-blue shirts, dark-blue waistcoats and trousers, the children were the stars of a magical night which clearly moved the audience.
As a result of the film “The Chorus”, directed by Christophe Barratier, “Les Choristes” have increased the number of concerts they perform and have a very busy schedule of concerts in Europe, Asia and America. A clear sign of the excitement that these young singers caused in Valencia was the fact that tickets sold out shortly after they were put on sale.
La Maîtrise des Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc was founded in September 1986 by Nicolas Porte. It is a mixed choir made up of 55 children between the ages of 10 and 15. All the members are schoolchildren from Saint-Marc de Lyon school.
