The Valencia Conference Centre has once again been chosen by the Spanish Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SEAIC) to host its most important annual national event
Over 1,000 people will be meeting from 24th to 27th October at the Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SEAIC) for a double celebration: it is 40 years since allergology was recognised as a specialist field and 70 years since the Society was founded.
The theme for this edition, ‘INNOVATION IN ALLERGY’, is a statement of intent, with SEAIC presenting the event as a platform to showcase the innovations that are being implented in the three basic areas of allergology: diagnosis; the number of topics, such as the new forms of non-invasive diagnosis of allergic processes, new therapeutic approaches is asthma, rhinitis and dermatitis; and new forms of specific immunotherapy in allergens.
However, innovation requires technological development, time and experience. The 31st SEAIC Congress aims to present not only the innovations that are already a reality, but also to look to the future in order to identify the best paths to follow for the optimum development of allergology. The Congress format also aims to be innovative, incorporating new technologies for the presentation of papers.
In order to achieve these objectives, the Scientific Commitee has proposed a programme that centres on reviewing diagnostic innovations, which make allergic tests less invasive and more accurate: therapeutic innovations, with biological products that offer alternatives to patients with more serious illnesses that are difficult to manage; as well as an overview of the application of new technologies to improve communications with patients. The field of allergology is commited to working closely with allergic patients and their families in different ways, as well as offering them accesible, understandable and quality information. The third day of the Congress will deal with these aspects at length, occupying a privileged position within the programme.
This SEAIC 2018 Congress also brings together allergology nurses to highlight theis key role in innovations related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, especially in communication.
