Next Sunday, 18th November, the Valencia Conference Centre will once again be hosting the 2018 FIM MotoGP™ Awards gala, coinciding with the last race of the MotoGP™ World Championship season at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste.
The Valencian venue has been chosen on four occasions to bring the MotoGP™ season to a close. Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo are just two of the most important riders to have picked up this award in the event organised by the International Motorcycling Federation and Dorna.
In 2017, the trophy was won by Marc Márquez. A few weeks ago, the 25-year-old retained his world championship title at the Motegi circuit in Japan. Quite a feat if we bear in mind that he is the youngest rider in history to win the MotoGP™ championship on five occasions. It seems that Marc has found his lucky charm in the Valencia Conference Centre.
But he won’t be the only one to receive an award. The ceremony, which will be broadcast to viewers directly from the Centre’s Auditorium 1, will also be the backdrop for presenting the silver and bronze medals in the top category, the Moto2™ and Moto3™ awards, as well as other prizes won by the teams participating in the World Championship.
The event will be held during a weekend in which the low temperatures will be eclipsed by the excitement of the last race in this year’s MotoGP™ World Championship, which is already warming up for next season.
