SED 2022 GIVES US THE KEYS TO THE LATEST IN PAIN TREATMENT

Did you know that the World Health Organisation states that: "chronic pain is a disease and its treatment is a human right".

Did you know that the World Health Organisation states that: “chronic pain is a disease and its treatment is a human right”.

That is why the Spanish Pain Society (SED), a professional, multidisciplinary and non-profit association, was created in June 1990 with the aim of promoting scientific work on the mechanisms and treatment of pain.

Take note of this date!

From 26 to 29 October, the SED is organising a dynamic national congress at the Valencia Conference Center, which will result in almost two thousand overnight stays in the city. The innovative proposals in the event’s programme are aimed at ensuring that everyone in the health sector is kept fully up to date on pain issues.

The SED’s function is to raise public awareness of this problem and to promote constant improvement in the assessment and therapy of patients suffering from pain. This association currently has more than 1,500 active members, who come from all over Spain, as well as from various Latin American countries, and is made up of professionals from different specialities and degrees: medicine, nursing, pharmacology, psychology, biology, physiotherapy and various types of scientific personnel. For this reason, the annual celebration is a unique opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, foster alliances and, in short, enrich the knowledge and vision of all those involved in the treatment of pain.

This year’s event has been organised with an up-to-date programme, paying special attention to professionals who are new to pain treatment and, of course, not forgetting the experienced professional who wants to keep up to date and learn about the latest developments. To this end, a programme has been organised with plenary sessions, debates with experts, controversy sessions and updates on clinical practice.
