The 28th International Congress For Battery Recycling 2023 draws to a successful close

The International Congress for Battery Recycling 2023, which took place from 6 to 8 September at the Valencia Conference Centre, has come to an end.

Did you know that the demand for batteries is expected to increase fifteenfold by 2030? ICBR 2023 is the global platform to address obstacles the Battery Recycling Sector are facing on a global level. For 28 successive years, the congress has united the worldwide association of professionals and leaders involved in every aspect of battery recycling, comprising of recyclers, battery producers, collectors, original equipment manufacturers, policymakers, material and services suppliers, and other involved parties.

At this year’s event, hosted for the first time in Valencia, around 600 attendees have come together in a unique atmosphere, and over 40 exhibits were showcased at the Valencia Conference Centre.

“We like the Valencia Conference Centre because it is only 10 minutes from the airport. Valencia City is also perfect and the building is stunning”, Nadja Koch, the congress director, stated. The organisers mentioned their satisfaction with the strong institutional backing that the event received, both locally and at a national level.

There were also engaging events on personal health and taking care of the environment. The event organisers provided the opportunity for individual yoga sessions within the building throughout the day and included 5-minute rest periods during the talks. Furthermore, a range of high-end electric vehicles were exhibited, in partnership with a Valencian car dealership. Attendees had the chance to drive the vehicles around the venue, providing an extraordinary experience at the Conference Centre, which is dedicated to sustainability.
