The Valencia Conference Centre, a meeting point for diabetes specialists
The 34th Congress of the Spanish Diabetes Society (SED), to be held from 19 to 21 April, offers a host of attractions.
Around 2,000 people will come together at the Palacio de Congresos de València for the SED congress. Our conference centre will once again be the venue for this congress (after the 2004 and 2015 events), which will be held over three days with the participation of dozens of national and international speakers, who will address an extensive range of topics, offering numerous presentations in a wide variety of formats to make the transmission of knowledge and learning more enjoyable, attractive and useful. Moreover, the congress will result in about 5000 overnight hotel stays in Valencia, an excellent figure for the city’s economy.
According to Dr. Juan Francisco Merino Torres, president of the Local Organising Committee of the Congress, and head of the Endocrinology and Nutrition Service of the LA FE University Hospital in Valencia “Valencia’s qualities as a welcoming, well-communicated city with ideal weather conditions are well known; but, in addition, its cultural and culinary richness, and the facilities and services of the congress venue, will undoubtedly contribute to the success of this event”.
Under the slogan “Diabetes connects us, exchanging experiences”, this event is guaranteed to arouse great emotions and to update and implement knowledge from different fields, from various perspectives and always focused on the patient. The scientific programme encompasses and integrates the main lines of research and the present and future challenges in the field of diabetes. It starts with interesting pre-congress activities, a course of the working group on technologies applied to diabetes, a workshop on continuous glucose monitoring in type 2 diabetes and a course on basic research in diabetes for clinical researchers.
