Last Sunday, the Valencia Conference Centre hosted the round-up party of this year?s world motorcycling championships. The event was attended by all the main riders from the three categories. The Centre was the venue chosen for the world championship awards ceremony at which prizes were presented to the winners of each category. Other accolades, including the Rookie of the Year and the Pole of Poles awards, were given to the season?s most outstanding riders as was the trophy for the Constructors? World Championship.
The evening?s most sought-after star was the Italian rider Valentino Rossi, who took time out to sign the Valencia Conference Centre?s illustrious visitors? book. Rossi, and the Spanish riders Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, picked up the top awards in the MotoGP category. The Japanese rider Hiroshi Aoyama and the Spaniard Julián Simón were also presented with their trophies as the winners of the 250 cc and 125 cc categories respectively.
The red carpet was out for the motorcycling stars who were warmly welcomed by the audience at this year?s event which marked the end of the motorcycling season. The impressive technology display put on at the event also caused a sensation. The complex montage of huge plasma screens and led displays put up on the stage created a unique backdrop for the ceremony which was broadcast live by television stations across the globe.
