We are 26!

Valencia Conference Centre celebrates its 26th birthday

On 2 July 1998, Valencia Conference Centre was officially opened, marking a turning point in the city’s conference tourism sector and positioning it as a benchmark in the field of conferences and conventions.

Today we are celebrating 26 years of success, as a testament to the hard work of our team, which has led us to be nominated Best Conference Centre in the World in 2010 and 2018 by the International Association of Conference Centres.

Throughout our history, we have held more than 3,300 events, receiving 2.5 million visitors and generating 2.6 million overnight stays in the city of Valencia. Thanks to this activity, we can affirm that the Conference Centre contributes to the boosting of the local economy and the positioning of the city as a MICE destination. Valencia currently ranks 27th among European cities with the highest number of international gatherings, according to the ICCA ranking.

In our 26th anniversary year, a year with very good growth figures, especially internationally, we are reaching important milestones in terms of social inclusion, sustainability, investment and activity. Firstly, we have established strategic alliances with companies that share our values. Thanks to these collaborations, we have enriched our team with people at risk of exclusion and, together with CEMAS and the Lluís Alcanyís Foundation of the University of Valencia, we work to promote food sustainability and reduce waste.

Likewise, in the year of the European Green Capital of Valencia, as a member entity in which sustainability guides all our steps from our beginnings, Valencia Conference Centre has been chosen by the European Commission to become the enclave where the Zentropy MICE project will be developed, an innovative plan that, over four years, will seek to transform meeting tourism and favour the socio-economic development and green transition of Valencia.

As we celebrate our 26th anniversary, we look ahead with the confidence that we will continue to work towards building a more sustainable future for everyone.
