The objective is to continue positioning the Centre as a leader in technology and innovation

  • The document is conceived as a “roadmap for responsible and inclusive tourism” and looks at the management of the centre across 4 axes: economic, social, environmental and governance.
  • Thanks to investments from the Next Generation funds and the Zentropy Project, the Conference Centre will improve the experience for guests during events.
  • The Chair of the Board of Directors, Councillor Paula Llobet, has underlined how the objective “remains the ongoing improvement of the experience of our users”.

The Board of Directors of the Valencia Conference Centre today approved the organisation’s strategic plan, the Sustainability Plan, which sets out the management guidelines for the Conference Centre for the period 2025-2029. The main objective is the integration of sustainability into all areas of the organisation, aligning the actions of the Centre with economic growth, social well-being and preservation of the environment, strengthening governance and maintaining the customer experience as the central pillar of our activity.

As explained by Councillor Llobet, Chair of the Conference Centre’s Board of Directors, “our objective remains the ongoing improvement of the experience of our users, positioning the Centre as a leader in technology and innovation”.

Four axes

The plan is built upon four key axes: the environmental axis, the economic axis, the social axis and the governance axis. The first is geared towards promoting sustainable mobility, reducing the carbon footprint and minimising the generation of waste and consumption of essential resources. The social axis looks to promote social inclusion, universal accessibility and the well-being of the community, while also fostering the integration of persons with functional diversity. The economic axis, meanwhiles, seeks to ensure continued growth through innovation and digitalisation, with commercial and management plans that allows operating efficient and ensure profitability. Finally, the purpose of the governance axis is to implement good governance practices and transparency in management and communication, both internal and external, ensuring accountability and institutional strength.

To monitor the progress of each of the projects encompassed within these axes, management indicators were designed to evaluate the impact of the Plan on an ongoing basis and to adjust it where necessary  Among the targets established, the Conference Centre is working to become carbon neutral and incorporate persons with disabilities at all events held at the venue.

The Board of Directors, meanwhile, has also approved the Action Plan for the year 2025, which is based on the strategic lines described. What’s more, in terms of the forecast for 2025, Councillor Llobet assures us the Board is expecting “very positive results, similar to 2023” which was the second best year in the history of Valencia Conference Centre, “albeit without reaching the extraordinary figures of the current year.”

Finally, in relation to investments, the Next Generation funds will allow the Conference Centre “to remain at the cutting edge of technology and improve the guest experience thanks primarily to technology and digitalization,” in the words of the Chair of the board. What’s more, initiatives like the Zentropy-MICE Project will make Valencia Conference Centre a pilot centre for the development of innovative actions in energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, organic food and the circular economy.

Councillor Llobet has explained that thanks to the positive results achieved in recent years, the Centre will plan investment in the building directly. “With this plan, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability in all spheres, contributing to a model of inclusive and environmentally friendly tourism, within the framework of a Green destination like our city,” she added.
