35th AECOC Consumer Congress
This is the congress of the year for the industry and highlights the sector’s enormous determination to move forward. The Conference Centre has a number of features that are very important to us: it has many access points, is easy to get to, has great infrastructure, is very simple to manage and makes contact with people easier, which for us is an essential part of our congress. We have had amazing numbers of delegates participating via streaming systems. Normally, about 1,200 people come to the event but this year we have had over 3,000 delegates.

1. Challenge
In this congress, we were faced with the challenge of organising a large event requiring a large number of services in record time. After the Catalan Regional Government announced the cancellation of face-to-face events and after successfully holding the 22nd Fruit and Vegetable Congress in our building on 30th September, AECOC decided to move the 35th Consumer Congress to the Valencia Conference Centre. Five days elapsed between the confirmation of the event and the day it was held. Our building became the stage for the country's main business leaders and prestigious speakers, such as the Chairman of the Spanish Confederation of Employers and Industries (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi; the Managing Director of Danone, Emmanuel Faber; the Deputy Chairwoman of Amazon in Spain and Italy, Mariangela Marseglia; the Chairman of the ElBullifoundation, Ferran Adrià; the Chairman of the Spanish Hospitality Industry, José Luis Yzuel; the Director of Heineken Management in China, Richard Weissend; and the leading coach Toni Nadal.
The Conference Centre also improved signage at the Congress with the installation of two LED screens.
In addition, the safety protocols were audited to guarantee their correct implementation.
2. Solution
3. Acomplished goals
Thanks to the Conference Centre team's experience in highly complex events and its close coordination with the AECOC team, the congress was a resounding success. Both organisations activated the relevant protocols to ensure maximum safety for the speakers, participants and staff.
