EANS TRAINING COURSE – VASCULAR
Our relationship with the Valencia Conference Centre team is excellent and the fact that we are back here with a new event is the proof that we consider them as one of the best convention teams in Europe.
Participants: 400 in person
Date: 27-30 June 2021
No. days: 4 days
This congress was a challenge in itself for the team at the Valencia Conference Centre, as it was the first international event to be held in our building since the start of the pandemic. Around 400 people from various European countries came together on site over four days. We were therefore faced with a major challenge simply to ensure the safety of all the attendees at all times, including the catering service, while continuing to make progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
From the congress set-up to its completion, we implemented the strict safety protocols prepared for our building, which you can check here. These measures included a specific catering protocol, which was applied throughout the congress. The food and drinks in the coffee breaks were served in individual closed boxes made out of recycled, compostable material to delegates seated at tables, each with a limited number of people. For the buffet, the number of serving areas per customer was increased to prevent crowds from forming and the safety distance of 1.5 metres between the queue and the tables was maintained at all times. In terms of sustainability, single-use, compostable material was used and more than 60% of the food served at this international event was local plant-based produce.
3. Acomplished goals
The objectives of this congress were successfully achieved. As you can see in the video, both the Chair of the EANS Training Committee, Claudius Thomé, and the Executive Director of EANS, Valentini Amarantidou, expressed their satisfaction with the event. Moreover, it was not the first time Valentini had attended a congress in our building. She originally met the Valencia Conference Centre team during the 37th Assembly of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), which was held in 2018, and decided to choose our building as the venue for the EANS Training Course - Vascular.
