Coinciding with the celebration of World Water Day on 22nd March, the Spanish Water and Wastewater Association (AEAS) will be meeting at the Valencia Conference Centre from 27th to 29th March in its 35th National Congress.

This event, which will be hosted by Global Omnium, is the main Spanish forum for professionals, companies and organisations to discuss the most relevant aspects of the entire water cycle.

Congress presentations will be given in three break-out rooms and there will be a fourth audiovisual area, showing documentaries and videos of information and initiatives of interest to the sector. The Congress’ technical programme will be complemented by the Water Technology Exhibition, which will offer companies the chance to showcase their activities.

During the three days of the Congress, experts will be debating the optimisation of investments and the reduction of trading losses; the need for an urban water pact from the perspective of building product manufacturers; the challenges involved in connecting a hydraulic model to the SCADA system, and aquatic ecology and how to apply it to reservoirs and industrial water. They will also be presenting a guide for drawing up drought emergency plans in urban supply systems, providing details of various industry success stories and a manual of best practices for selecting and acquiring cold water meters.

AEAS is the reference association in the urban water sector in Spain. With a 45-year history, it includes management bodies, such as municipal water services and public, private and PPPs that provide water and wastewater services to 80% of the Spanish population, water-related technology companies, government agencies and independent experts. It also works closely with prestigious international organisations on aspects related to the water cycle, such as EurEau, IWA, OECD, WssTP and ISO.
