Towards More Sustainable Mobility: Installing Electric Vehicle Charging Points

The new charging infrastructure strengthens the commitment of the Conference Centre and Valencia city to cleaner mobility and sustainable congress tourism.

At the Valencia Conference Centre, we have completed the installation of an electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This project is funded by the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next GenerationEU, a fund specifically designed to drive structural transformation in the European economy, with a strong focus on sustainability and digital innovation.

The new charging points represent a significant step forward in the Conference Centre’s strategy to integrate solutions that reinforce its commitment to sustainability and responsible mobility.

The infrastructure includes two 40 kW dual chargers for fast charging and thirteen 22 kW dual chargers for semi-fast charging. Additionally, sixteen charging points for bicycles and electric scooters have been installed, equipped with secure anchorages. Access control systems, fencing, and the necessary electrical and data infrastructure have also been set up for future activation.

Fewer Polluting Vehicles in the City

For the Conference Centre, this initiative forms part of a broader strategic project aimed at reducing the use of polluting vehicles within the urban environment, improving air quality and enhancing public spaces. This initiative also aligns with efforts to raise sustainability standards in congress tourism and the events hosted at the Conference Centre.

Moreover, it contributes to positioning Valencia as a destination committed to a more conscious and sustainable tourism model. In this way, the new infrastructure supports a shared vision of a city moving toward more efficient and environmentally friendly mobility.

Strengthening Valencia’s Sustainable Tourism Brand

Among the key benefits of this initiative are reduced pollutant emissions, improved urban environmental quality, and the promotion of active sustainability embedded in the daily lives of those who live, work or visit Valencia. This action not only reinforces the city’s tourism brand but also adds a distinctive value aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through this, we consolidate our position as a leading voice in the green transition within the meeting and congress tourism sector, offering organisers and attendees the opportunity to connect their events to an environment that promotes cleaner mobility, a healthier city, and a more responsible experience.
