A More Efficient and Sustainable Conference Centre Thanks to NextGenerationEU Funds
The building takes another step forward in its green transformation with new energy, technology, and mobility upgrades.
Environmental sustainability is an ongoing reality for the Valencia Conference Centre. Thanks to NextGenerationEU funds, we have implemented in recent months a series of strategic improvements aligned with its Sustainability Plan.
Digital Intelligence for More Efficient Management
Finally, we have completed the first phase of the Conference Centre’s Digital Twin, a key tool for the future. This virtual model of the building enables automated and optimised planning of the venue’s resources, anticipates needs and improves decision-making. It serves as a technological foundation that opens the door to further enhancements in management and sustainability.
Renewable Energy: A Roof for the Future
One of the most notable initiatives has been the installation of a solar-panelled roof for self-consumption, expected to cover up to 10% of the Conference Centre’s energy needs. This development reinforces our commitment to energy self-sufficiency and the reduction of the building’s carbon footprint.
More Efficient and Adaptable Lighting
We have taken another decisive step towards efficiency by completing the renovation of the building’s interior lighting. All spaces are now equipped with state-of-the-art LED technology, resulting in an estimated average energy saving of over 60% compared to the previous equipment.
In addition to energy savings, the new lighting offers functional improvements, particularly in the auditoriums, where intensity and colour temperature can be adjusted to suit the specific technical requirements of each event.
Boosting Electric Mobility
We have also strengthened our commitment to sustainable mobility. New charging points for electric vehicles have been installed, both on the auxiliary road and in the underground car park. In total, the following infrastructure has been added:
- 2 dual fast-charging stations;
- 13 dual semi-fast charging stations;
- 16 anchor points for bicycles and electric scooters, with integrated security systems.
These facilities make it easier for attendees, staff and suppliers to use more environmentally friendly modes of transport.
Commitment to SDGs and Environmental Innovation
These initiatives form part of the sustainability strategy of the Valencia Conference Centre. Thanks to the support of the NextGenerationEU funds, we continue to evolve as a national and international benchmark in sustainability and responsible management. Every improvement matters because innovation is not just words, it is action.
