AVAPACE: Winner of the ‘Solidarity Spaces’ Competition
Encuento Asociativo: a project designed to promote inclusion and social cohesion
The Valencian Association for Cerebral Palsy Support and Inclusion (AVAPACE) has been awarded first prize in the ‘Solidarity Spaces’ competition, which was organised by the Sustainability Advisory Committee (CAS) of the Valencia Conference Centre. This competition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability, inclusion and support for social welfare organisations.
This year, eight entries were submitted to the competition, all of which demonstrated the high quality of their proposals. Among all of them, ‘Encuentro Asociativo’, the initiative presented by AVAPACE, has been particularly noteworthy for its inclusive approach, which is aimed at improving the quality of life of people with cerebral palsy and their families. It has also had a positive impact on the social integration of groups at risk of exclusion.
‘Encuentro Asociativo’ is a project that will take place in our facilities and will bring together more than 200 people. During the day, a variety of cultural activities and artistic performances will be taking place, along with a community lunch. Its aim is to strengthen the links between users, families, professionals and volunteers, while at the same time making people with cerebral palsy visible and promoting their integration in an accessible and supportive environment.
This event reflects AVAPACE’s commitment, which has been working for more than 50 years to improve the quality of life of people with cerebral palsy. With a track record of assisting over 1,300 people and involving more than 800 professionals and volunteers, the association continues to be a leading light in the construction of a fairer and more inclusive society. The scheduled artistic performances will showcase the group’s creativity, while the dynamic activities will encourage all attendees to participate.
At the Conference Centre, the commitment is to generate a positive impact on the community and to create dynamics that can be adopted by other organisations. This competition presents an opportunity to provide non-profit associations, such as AVAPACE, with access to our facilities to organise events that promote social integration, sustainability, and, ultimately, the transformation of society.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who participated in the nomination process, and we would like to reaffirm our commitment to inclusion, accessibility and sustainability. Initiatives such as ‘Encuentro Asociativo’ are key to our ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive society for everyone.
