After the success of its first call, EDEM is launching the second “Focus on Tourism” course and the Valencia Conference Centre will be the protagonist in the Business model: MICE tourism session.

This 45-hour course, which starts on 23rd September and ends on 2nd Decembre, is divided into 10 sessions and is aimed at employers, managers and professionals from tourism organisations, as well as entrepreneurs. The objective is to provide the knowledge, tools and models needed to improve the management of tourism and leisure companies, giving participants the chance to learn about success stories from the people in charge of some of the industry’s leading organisations.

The speakers giving the course are employers, entrepreneurs and professionals with extensive experience in tourism in their different areas of expertise, and the programme has been drawn up by the EDEM management team in conjunction with José M. Nácher, a specialist in tourism at the University of Valencia.

The programme consists of three main areas: a look at company management areas from a managerial standpoint, an insight into different tourism business models through sharing experiences and visits to leading organisations, and finally investment and entrepreneurship in tourism, with practical examples offered by the people involved. The aim of all this is to learn different leadership styles.

Sylvia Andrés, the Managing Director of the Valencia Conference Centre, will be taking part in the second part of this course. This session will highlight the importance of MICE tourism in the industry and the role of the Valencian facility as a management model in the sector. Her presentation will take place on 4th November at the Conference Centre. Afterwards, participants will be given the opportunity to take a guided tour of the facilities.

If you wish to register, you can do so before 16th September 2019 by completing the application form online at ( Remember that groups are limited and there will only be a maximum of 30 places.
