These new spaces feature state-of-the-art projection and sound equipment, LED lighting and the numerous advantages of built-in and wireless connectivity
The Valencia Conference Centre has converted a multi-purpose room and two meeting rooms into five new spaces that will enable the venue to cater for a larger number of visitors and provide new break-out rooms. These additions are “fundamental, especially for the development of congresses, and will be brought into operation thanks to an intelligent reorganisation of the facilities that will generate greater capacity, dynamism and versatility”, said Sandra Gómez, the Conference Centre’s Chairwoman.
The first new multi-purpose room can cater for up to 450 people or be divided into four independent rooms with capacities ranging from 60 to 150 people. This highly versatile space, characterised by its natural light and catering facilities, multiplies its potential through a mobile panel system that can create four different meeting or networking areas.
In addition, break-out rooms 8 and 9 have also been renovated to create a new larger space for up to 120 people, offering more versatile projection options from different angles.
This new room concept reflects a real statement of intent on the part of the Conference Centre, which has identified greater demands for break-out rooms in its constant monitoring of new market trends. The venue is also committed to implementing initiatives aimed at maximising customer satisfaction to achieve the perfect balance between people and technology, and innovation and comfort.
In its 20th year, the cornerstone of business tourism in the city of Valencia aims to grow in terms of space, quality and, above all, the number of people it can cater for, added Gómez. The ultimate aim of this upgrade is to maintain customer loyalty and satisfaction.
This room redesign at the Conference Centre has enabled the venue’s facilities to grow, creating a total of 49 break-out rooms, when added to those of the adjacent hotels, 19 of which have a capacity for over 150 people.
Sandra Gómez highlighted the value of the Valencia City Council’s investments to improve a venue which, she recalled, received last year’s World’s Best Convention Centre Award from the International Association of Conference Centres as well as two other awards: the Best Destination/Convention Bureau for the city of Valencia at BEA World’s Best Location Awards 2018, and the Best National MICE Destination 2018 award from IBTA, Spain’s largest travel and business meeting organisation.
Gómez recalled that during the 20 years that the Centre has been operating, it has held over 2,700 events generating an economic impact for the city of Valencia of around €1.1 billion, 36 times more than it cost to build the venue. As a result, it has become one of the driving forces behind the city’s economy and one of the cornerstones in promoting Valencia as a MICE destination.
