Valencia Conference Centre approves the 2022 Financial Statements
Board of Directors maintains growth forecast for this year
The Board of Directors of Valencia Conference Centre has this morning approved the financial statements for 2022, the year the building returned to hosting face-to-face events after the health restrictions impose due to the pandemic. The Board has maintained the growth forecast for this year According to the approved report, in 2022 there were 135 events attended by 115,894 people, generating 89,690 overnight stays in the city of Valencia. In terms of investment, 1.8 million euros of investment is forecast
The report shows a recovery of congress activity with an increase of 112% if we compare to the previous year, marked by the pandemic. Specifically, in the year 2022 conferences accounted for 74% of the organisation’s total business.
Among the main initiatives carried out were the replacement of seating in the auditoriums and the improvements in connectivity and the technological equipment, prioritising sustainability criteria and fostering responsible events.
Along these lines, the Board approved new tenders that will continue this project of adapting the infrastructure of our facilities with the focus on energy efficiency, thanks to forecast investment of 1.8 million euros.
Valencia Conference Centre celebrates 25 years
This year, Valencia Conference Centre marks a quarter century. In this time, it has hosted 3,200 events attended by 2.3 million people, generating 2.4 million overnight stays in the city. The building was also named Best Conference Centre in the World by the International Association of Convention Centres, one of only three in the world to receive that honour on two occasions.
This year, according to the Board, 23 new conferences are scheduled, including the 34th National Diabetes Conference, the 4th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Oncology, the 34th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, the EUSOBI (European Society of Breast Imaging) Annual Scientific Meeting, the Annual Meeting of the Spanish Neurology Society, Conference of the Spanish Prostheses Society, the Spanish Society of Primary Care Doctors SEMERGEN and the 28th International Congress for Battery Recycling.
