The dates of the conference will be 4 to 6 May 2023.
The 11th National Congress in Specialised Ostomy Nursing is about to be held. Since its first edition, this event was consolidated as a key meeting point for those innovative professionals who seek to tackled challenges to improve care for people with osmosis and their families. To tackle this great challenge, collaboration between different disciplines is required. That’s why the Spanish Estomatherapy Society (SEDE) promotes these interdisciplinary events with the aim of expanding knowledge and improving integrated action among citizens of people who live and will live with an ostomy.
The main slogan of the Congress is “Advance in Skills” and will revolve around the need to share to progress and develop competencies for nursing: research skills, the capacity to adapt to new situations, the capacity to generate new ideas (creativity), leadership, project design and management, interdisciplinary teamwork, autonomy, entrepreneurial initiative, prioritising quality to provide optimum care. Therefore, the idea of shared space is explicit: not only are will professionals from the different disciplines be in attendance but we will share our knowledge with patients and stakeholders from different spheres.
The discussion tables at the event are the key issues like research, patient care, education and advances in technology. What’s more, projects open at national and international level to foster the creation of, and collaboration on, studies that involve multiple centres. There will also be round tables to foster the participation of those attending and discussion of different perspectives and approaches in ostomy care.
Following the lines of the last Conference in Vigo in 2019, this year’s edition will welcome over 500 people, aiming to give continuity with the celebration of the 2nd Virtual Conference. This format offers the possibility of exchanging experiences with professionals from other countries, along with those experts in Spain who are unable to attend the event in person.
