The Valencia Conference Centre is hosting the 37th Congress of the Spanish Spinal Column Society
The Spanish Spinal Column Society, in commemoration of its 40th anniversary, is holding its 37th annual Congress at the Valencia Conference Centre on 1 and 2 June. This event will be attended by around five hundred specialists from Spain in the field of the spinal column.
During the congress, almost one hundred research studies related to the main spinal disorders and associated surgical procedures will be presented. These presentations will promote the exchange of knowledge and clinical experiences among the various professionals involved in the assessment and treatment of patients with spinal problems.
The 37th Congress of the Spanish Spinal Column Society also includes, for the first time, a national conference on the role of nursing in spinal surgery, which is essential in the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases. Specialists from the Hospital La Fe in Valencia will highlight the role of nursing in spinal surgery care.
Furthermore, during the Congress there will be a change in the presidency of the Spanish Spinal Column Society, which since 2021 has been held by Dr. Teresa Bas, Head of Section of the Spinal Column Unit at the Hospital La Fe and the first woman to preside over the society in its 40 years of existence. Dr. Luis Álvarez Galovich, now Vice-President of the Spanish Spinal Column Society and Head of the Spine Unit of the Jiménez Díaz Foundation in Madrid, will head the Board of Directors for the next two years.
