Valencia Conference Centre received the award for Innovation at the Community of Valencia’s 2nd MICE Awards

The award, given by the Community of Valencia’s Professional Organisation of Conferences and Events (OPCE-CV), distinguishes the Conference Centre for its roadmap which aligns digitalisation, efficiency and sustainability. Examples of this commitment include the Digital Twin and Data Pool projects as well as the Conference Centre’s LED lighting and solar panelling.

Valencia Conference Centre is celebrating its recognition in the Innovation category of the Community of Valencia’s 2nd MICE Awards, an event organised by OPCE-CV with the support of the Community of Valencia’s Department of Tourism.

The jury decided unanimously to give the Innovation award to the Conference Centre, underlining its undeniable commitment to combining applied technology, efficient management and sustainability to improve the customer experience and elevate its status in the professional circuit.

The gala, held at La Agencia Place, brought together a large group of professionals from the MICE sector, as well as representatives from the Community of Valencia’s Department of Tourism, tourism managers from Alicante and Castellón and agents from the Community of Valencia’s Business Confederation (CEV). Prizes were awarded in five areas: Solidarity, Legacy, Innovation, Social Commitment and Environmental Sustainability.

The Innovation recognition comes after a transformative year for the Centre with projects such as Zentropy Mice and Urban Sandbox leaving a direct impact on the city´s legacy.

Thanks to the NextGenerationEU funds, we have also made progress in our Digital Twin and Data pool projects. Digital twin allows for resource planning and optimisation through virtual building models white; Data Pool is a data architecture that connects systems to facilitate advanced analytics and decision-making in real time; and Metasys, a comprehensive energy management, monitoring and control system for buildings, which enables real-time monitoring of energy consumption, optimisation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting and indoor environmental quality, integration of renewable energy sources, and improvement of the building’s operational efficiency.

This year at Valencia Conference Centre we have also renovated our space to align with our mission. We have completely transitioned to LED lighting, resulting in an estimated savings of over 60% and allowing us to control intensity and temperature in our auditorium lighting; in the interest of self-sufficiency, we have installed sufficient solar panels to cover up to 10% of annual energy demand, and we have installed electric charging stations for vehicles and micro-mobility.

This award recognises a management model oriented towards measurable results – reduced consumption, higher technical quality, better service for organisers and attendees – and aligned with the city’s priorities: environmental sustainability, innovation and connection with our surroundings.
